Brightening Schools, Enlightening Minds
About us
We aim to bring solar energy to schools in rural areas of Indonesia to give children access to educational resources and clean energy. The microgrids are designed by state-of-the-art algorithms that were developed at the University of Cambridge. The installations are supervised by local solar companies and NGOs. For each project, we train and hire local maintenance personnel.

What we do

1
Planing of the
Energy System
We design and develop a suitable energy system for each school, depending on the infrastructural and environmental factors
2
Procurement
We take care of the procurement of the solar panels with help and advice from United Nations procurement experts.
3
Installation
We get local solar panel providers on board to find the best ways to install the system at the school. Our local partners supervize the deployment process.
4
Maintenance
We hire and train local community members who will take care of the maintenance of the solar panels throughout their lifetime.
5
Workshop
We launch the system and invite the students to join a workshop about renewable energy and its crucial role for the environment.
Pilot Project in Sumba
The St. Yosef Mata Wee Lima Catholic Middle School has 113 students from grades 7 to 9. The reconstruction of the school was completed in October 2021 by Happy Hearts Indonesia, but the school still lacks reliable and clean electricity access.
